This year’s exhibit includes a variety of media both
large and small.
There are watercolors of chickens on Japanese
kozo, Asian brush paintings of rhododendron, acrylics of sea-coast Maine,
gyotaku fish prints, and for the first time, one-a-day small oils.
Jean loves the observable world and the
vagaries of nature.
Her northern lights works are reflections of
both Chinese landscape painting and the Color Field idiom. Her paintings reflect
a lyrical
abstraction. Much
of her work can be seen as a local document of time and place.
